The Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Greene have completed work on the Proposed Tentative Budget on March 13, 2023 for the fiscal year 2023-2024. General Fund The proposed appropriations for the General Fund amount to $1,488,303 an increase of $114,237 from fiscal year 2022-2023. The general fund tax levy for Real Property Taxes is $843,443. Water Fund The proposed appropriations for the Water Fund amount to $279,929 which is a decrease of $32,133 from FY 2022-2023. Sewer Fund The proposed appropriations for the Sewer Fund amount to $622,269 a decrease of $36,296 from FY 2022-2023. The Village Board and Department Supervisors work diligently to maintain a modest tax rate while continuing to offer extensive services to its residents. Village Tax Rate is at $11.47/thousand. For example, a house assessed at $100,000 x 11.47/1000=$1147.00, last year rate $100,000 x 9.75/1000=$975.00 difference of $172.00. The Village intends to adopt a Property Tax Levy law allowing an override of the tax cap.
